Frankfurt (April 4, 2011) 4asset-management today announced the launch of an index tracking German Mittelstand companies (MVGERJ).

The Market Vectors Germany Small Cap Index is a rules-based index intended to give investors a means of tracking the overall performance of small cap companies that are domiciled and primarily listed in Germany, or that generate at least 50% of their revenues in Germany.

MVGERJ targets coverage of 100% of the free-float market capitalisation of the investable small-cap universe with at least 25 companies. Companies covering the top 90% of the full market capitalisation are excluded. Only companies ranking between 90% and 98% are considered Small-Caps and qualify for the selection.

The Market Vectors Germany Small-Caps index is reviewed quarterly and changes are implemented on the third Friday of every quarter-end month (i.e. March, June, September and December). Changes become effective on the next trading day.
