Frankfurt (31 March 2021) – MV Index Solutions GmbH (MVIS®) today announced the licensing of the MVIS Global Hydrogen Economy Index (ticker: MVHTWO) to VanEck for the use in an UCITS compliant ETF that allows investors to invest in a global selection of companies in the hydrogen industry such as hydrogen producers, fuel cell manufacturers or companies in the electrolysis sector.
“We are pleased to license our MVIS Global Hydrogen Economy Index to VanEck providing their new product with a pure-play benchmark for this transformative clean-energy-related theme,” said Josh Kaplan, Global Head of Research at MV Index Solutions.
“Investors are increasingly looking for investment opportunities in sustainable technologies and solutions for the future,” explains Dominik Schmaus, Product Manager at VanEck. “With our VanEck ETF, we offer them the opportunity to invest broadly in the future technology of hydrogen to participate in the long-term CO2 reduction in many sectors of the economy.“
The MVIS Global Hydrogen Economy Index tracks the performance of the global hydrogen economy. The index is weighted by free float market capitalisation and is calculated in USD as a price and a total return net index. Capping factors are applied to avoid overweighting of single index companies. The index is reviewed on a quarterly basis. Detailed information about the indices, including methodology details and index data are available on the MV Index Solutions website.
